The ink cartridges are only good for about 100 black and 40 color prints, and even though they're cheap, you'll have to buy them often, which adds up quickly. It's still a very compact printer and a great choice for tight spaces, like a bedroom or dorm room. It's also a little more cumbersome because it's wider and taller. Unlike our picks above, this model is less suitable for on-the-go use as it lacks an internal battery, meaning you must use it plugged in. You can see all the variants in our full review. You may find this printer under a different model number, as it changes depending on the region and retailer, like the HP DeskJet 3772 or 3752. The cartridges yield about 180 black and 190 color prints, which isn't a lot, but they're cheap, so it won't cost too much to maintain over time.įor those on a tighter budget, we recommend the HP DeskJet 3755, the best small home printer we've tested. As for its printing speed, it's very slow at seven black or three color pages per minute, and while it can print double-sided sheets, it can only do so manually, meaning you have to flip the pages yourself when prompted. However, colored areas, like in a graph or pie chart, look noticeably grainy, and that graininess is also visible in photos. The print quality for black and color documents is good text looks sharp, and fine elements are present. You can connect to the printer via USB or Wi-Fi, and thanks to its support for Apple AirPrint and Mopria Print Service, you can print easily from your mobile device without installing any drivers or third-party apps. It's even smaller than the HP OfficeJet 250, so it takes up less space and is easier to carry around, but it's a print-only unit, meaning it doesn't have a scanner. If you find our top pick too expensive, check out the Canon PIXMA TR150. On the upside, you can get XL cartridges that'll last longer, and the printer accepts third-party ink, which might help save some money. The cartridges aren't overly expensive, but the cost will still add up if you print a lot. Also, it can only print 100-150 pages before the ink runs out, meaning you'll need to replace the cartridges often. However, it prints very slowly at three black or six color pages per minute when plugged in and even slower when running on battery. Printing-wise, it produces sharp black and color documents that look good enough for a professional work environment. You can connect to the printer via USB or Wi-Fi connectivity, and you can also print directly from a USB flash drive. Despite the printer's compact size, you still get a sheetfed scanner that produces high-quality scans. The battery is good for about 225 prints and takes around two hours to charge. It fits easily into most mid-size backpacks, and you don't need a power outlet because it has an internal rechargeable battery. This compact all-in-one is a great option if you travel for work. The best small printer we've tested is the HP OfficeJet 250.

“We expect that we will have support for all 55+ UAD plug-ins completed in 2013,” the company said on its website. Universal Audio already has its own DSP format, the UAD platform, and says all of its plugins should be supported by the end of the year. Waves posted a note on its website about the new software, saying that, “Waves is still working closely with Avid to prepare AAX Native support, and expect to achieve full compatibility very soon.” Additionally, it is reported that Waves is working on its own Pro Tools DSP (Digital Signal Processor) format based on its existing Soundgrid technology. These companies make some of the most widely used tools in the industry, and its likely that many engineers are waiting to make the transition to the new software until these plugins are available. While the plugins that aren’t compatible with 11 is shrinking, there are two huge names in the world of plugins that was still on the list: Waves and Universal Audio. It is likely that some plugins will have occasional problems as the transition continues, but most are reporting the new versions of most of the plugins to be working fairly well in the new environment. It should be noted, however, that some of the companies are offering the plugins for 11 in beta form, with the official versions coming at a later date. Also ready for the new version are most plugins from big names including iZotope, Blue Cat and Air, among others. The list of plugins currently available for Pro Tools 11 is growing continuously, and as would be expected includes nearly all the tools made by Avid, the maker of the DAW software. What Plugins Are Available for Pro Tools 11? Of course, this presents a huge problem for users, who essentially have two solutions: stick with Pro Tools 10 until all the plugins they use are compatible with the new second-generation AAX plugin format, or make do with the plugins that are available for the new version of the software. And those that are using it will find many of the plugins they are familiar with aren’t yet capable of running on the new system. While the features of Pro Tools 11 were announced a few months ago, Avid just officially released the software in June. And while the new technology will allow plugins to run more efficiently, many users that have switched over to the new version of the software are finding compatibility issues. When Avid announced that Pro Tools 11 would support 64-bit architecture, many engineers and producers rejoiced at the news that had been expected by many to be a feature on Pro Tools 10. These various elements have been positively received by critics over the series' lifetime, contributing to its overall worldwide success, with the gameplay and narratives frequently cited as setting a standard for RPGs. The wheel may be smaller than expected, but this was also designed by Polyphony Digital directly for Gran Turismo 7. Fanatec has added stiffer spring to this brake pedal along with a foam dampener that improves brake progression, so the brake pressure feel may just be more of a personal preference. These steel pedals are linear and responsive, but more brake pressure or resistance for braking would have been preferred. The default pedal covers are plastic and can be slick if you race with socks, though. It also features a large platform to hold your feet at the base of the unit. The brake and gas pedal can be moved via screws to different slots to help cater to your driving preference. The pedal setup that’s included is lacking a clutch out of the box, but the durability of the entire pedal base is fantastic. The Gran Turismo DD Pro is one of the most immersive racing experiences there is. I found that correcting oversteer was much more precise due to how well the wheel snapped back and forth. Working the wheel on the track and driving cars to the limit requires strength, much like a real car. I was expecting somewhat of a bigger steering wheel, but the results quickly dissipated those concerns. The steering wheel actually connects to the housing, much like other Fanatec wheels. Coming from the Logitech G923 was a major jump in not only force feedback, but also wheel rotation. Force feedback is precise with this wheel and picks up even the smallest of nuances. The motor within the housing is German-designed and includes the patented FluxBarrier technology. This means customization via the menus on the wheel itself are possible to cater to different racing styles. The Pro version includes this and the unit even offers five presets, including an automatic preset that caters to specific titles. The review unit came with the additional Boost Kit 180, which adds even more force feedback with 8 nm of torque. The housing is smaller in comparison to other Fanatec setups, but it packs more of a punch. The DD in the name stands for Direct Drive, which is the latest generation of force feedback that is felt in the motor that drives the wheel. The wheel is also labeled as Xbox ready, so compatibility isn’t an issue no matter the platform. There’s also a compatibility option for older titles, if need be. It is designed to work with the PlayStation 5, but also works for PlayStation 4 and PC as the wheel has specific modes tied to each. While the release of the wheel is meant to coincide with the release of the game, Fanatec is currently taking pre-orders and it will release after the launch of GT7. Developer Polyphony Digital has worked with Fanatec to design the Gran Turismo DD Pro Racing Wheel, and it’s as immersive as you can imagine. One game that’s due to come out is Gran Turismo 7, which continues to release information to make the game more realistic than ever. Even more so, if you’re that fast in the virtual world, it seems to have transitioned well over to the real world to the point that race teams are looking at eSports racers for seats. The ability to hop on a virtual track at a much deeper discount than purchasing a car and doing actual race days has opened the door for anyone and everyone to get involved. Sim racing is currently at its greatest peak with only more growth to come. Graphic Matters: Dürer, Rembrandt, Hogarth, Goya, Picasso, R.
